SUMMARY:Kyle Founder's Parade
DESCRIPTION:The town of Kyle was platted and the first lots sold sometime around the 15th of October\, 1880.  Parades through downtown around the middle of October have been a tradition since.  The tradition lives on as we reflect and recognize the many founders of this great town.\n\n\n\nThe 2018 theme is "Wish Upon A Star"\n\n\n\nOn Saturday\, October 13\, 2018\, beginning at 10 a.m.\, the Kyle Founders' Parade will once again pass through downtown.  The parade participants will gather at Gregg-Clarke Park and head east on Center Street.  They end at the Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park's Gazebo.  When the last parade entry arrive at the Gazebo\, all gathered will since "Happy Birthday" to Kyle and have a piece of birthday cake.\n\n\n\nBest locations to watch the Kyle Founders' Parade is on either side of Center Street between Gregg-Clarke Park and Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park.  Please stay on sidewalks or grassy areas along Center Street.  Do not run into the street when the parade is going by\n\n.\n\nToday\, Center Street is a State Highway (FM-150) and we are very limited on how long we can close this section down to have the Kyle Founders' Parade.  Therefore\, the number of entries is set and when the spaces are filled\, we can't add any more.\n\n\n\nEnter your group in the Parade\n\n\n\nIf you would like to participate in this year's Kyle Founders Parade\, on-line Parade entry forms will be accessible beginning in August 2018.  Space is very limited so entries will be accepted until all space is filled.  Deadline for submitting your entry is 2:00 PM on Wednesday\, October 3\, 2018\, or when all spaces are filled.
