DESCRIPTION:Experience a "Quiet\, Calming and Moving" evening with the Starlight Symphony Orchestra\n\n\n\nThis February audiences can once again find inspiration through emotion with the Starlight Symphony Orchestra's performance.  Their next performance presents four pieces that elicit quiet\, calm and moving emotions.   Meditation\, the contemplative\, yet colorful third movement from Jack Jarrett's large work\, "Serenade for String Orchestra\;" \n\n\n\n"Tragic Overture" by Johannes Brahms\; and "The Planets" by Gustav Holst\, Movements II. Venus\, the Bringer of Peace\, and V. Saturn\, the Bringer of Old Age. The finale showcases the patriarch of the brass family\, "The Concerto for Tubameister" with soloist Raul Rodriguez.  This contemporary piece shows the light-hearted and jaunty side of the instrument. This concert is held on Saturday\, February 21\, 2015 at 7:00 pm at the Hays Performing Arts Center\, 979 Kohler's Crossing\, Kyle\, TX\; and again on Sunday\, February 22\, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Evans Auditorium\, Texas State University Campus\, N. LBJ Dr. & Pleasant St.\, San Marcos\, TX.\n\n\n\nThe Starlight Symphony Orchestra is comprised of all volunteer musicians and the concerts are free and open to the public.  Donations are always welcomed and appreciated to meet the expenses associated with concerts and performances.
